Introducing The Sunspel Pea Coat
The functional details of the classic Pea Coat have made it a go-to style essential for men across the world, and over the seas. Dating back to the 1700’s, pea coats were originally fashioned for sea-faring gentlemen from ‘pilot’s cloth’, a coarse navy twill which has since been generally replaced with a warm wool melton fabric for cooler climates. Typical detailing includes generous broad and high collars to protect against howling gales, double-breasted styling for warmth and large buttons big enough to be handled with thick gloves.
Our version is constructed from a luxurious cashmere wool blend cloth, it is lightweight yet thoroughly warm and features a soft cotton padded lining, vented back and metal button fastening. We’re ready for winter, on land or sea.
