The company is based in Long Eaton, near Nottingham, in the factory we have occupied for the best part of a century. We continue to draw on the traditional clothing techniques and expertise of the Nottingham area where the company was founded back in 1860. We also have offices in London, where the marketing, online and wholesale team reside.

Knitwear Garment Technologist

Founded in 1860, Sunspel pioneered the development of luxury undergarments. Sunspel is now a growing and exciting global fashion brand with Menswear, Womenswear and Accessory collections sold through its stores and online and through its extensive Wholesale partners. The Product Development team is looking to expand and recruit a Knitwear Technologist.

The role

The role involves working with the Design team on the development of new products within the Sunspel knitwear range. taking garments from prototype stage all the way through to production, thorough liaison with designers and specific factories. To assist with all technical aspects of Knitwear garments produced by the design department. You must have gained experience within a luxury or premium apparel business and ideally have worked on both Men’s and Women’s Knitwear.

Key responsibilities

  • Ensuring that design teams designs are not compromised and interpreting the design aesthetic from sketch to reality.
  • Engineering the product to optimise efficient manufacturing and maximise profitability.
  • To oversee fit sessions in the relevant areas with the Design team and to make accurate notes relating to garment construction
  • Translate design sketches in to workable information to provide to outsourced suppliers.
  • Supporting and liaison with factories on all issues of quality assurance from proto stages and sampling whilst also monitoring the highest standards of production at all times.

Requirements

  • Applicant requires a minimum of two years’ experience of working in the clothing industry.
  • All Applicants should be educated to minimum 2.1 degree in Fashion or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in Knitwear technical role, and working with outsourced factories.
  • Excellent organisational & communication skills are required for liaison with agents, suppliers and internal departments.
  • Experience with Illustrator and advanced Microsoft Office.
  • Full, current driving license required.

IT Support Assistant

We are looking for an experienced IT assistant to provide hardware and software support to our growing number of users over multiple sites. You will be responsible for maintaining computer networks and infrastructure, PC’s, printers and peripherals. A technical background, professional and friendly attitude is a must for this position with the ability to work calmly under pressure.

The business operates with a Windows and OSX environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Working with staff offering support face to face, via telephone and email & providing remote support to users
  • Network & Infrastructure
    • Hardware Support
    • Helpdesk
    • Release & Deployment Support
    • Troubleshooting
    • Training & Development Support
    • Procedures and Policy Implementation
  • Occasional travel to other Sunspel offices
  • Provide support for mobile devices
  • Replace parts as required
  • Support the roll-out of new applications
  • Set up new user accounts and profiles and deal with password issues
  • Prioritise and manage many open cases at one time

REQUIREMENTS

  • Computing/IT-related University degree is desirable, but not essential
  • Experience working in a similar technical role
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organisational skill
  • Personal and professional integrity
  • Competent with troubleshooting computer issues
  • Work well in a team environment
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good PC/Mac diagnostic skills, including trouble shooting network issues

Assistant Store Manager (Notting Hill)

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Assistant Store Manager to join the retail team across our store in Notting Hill.

The Assistant Store Manager is responsible for:

  • Managing the store and employees, creating a positive and motivational environment, encouraging them to generate sales and provide exceptional customer service
  • Motivating staff to reach sales targets
  • Ensuring the store is always presentable and according to merchandising standards
  • Analysing sales and key performance indicators and taking the required actions to drive these
  • Reaching out and maintaining a good relationship with local businesses and neighbours
  • Administrative duties such as reporting daily sales figures to head office, organising staff rota and payroll

Desired Qualifications
